Bumper Tag

Kim seems to think I am tag worthy- again, only this time I have to send cards out to 5 people and tag 5 more great bloggers. I love sending cards to people so I think this is a great tag. As a matter of fact, I put 7 cards in the mail this morning!

Clinton Lake

Another layout complete! This one is in June while we were camping at Clinton lake. The dp is by Sandy Lion as well as some of the stickers. I also used the new SU! Old Olive ribbon. That is the first I've used it since I got it and I love it. You can click on the picture to see it in larger format. Happy Tuesday!!

Your Package Has Arrived

This card was made for one of my daycare moms that just had another baby boy. As soon as I saw today's SCS color challenge, everything sort of fell into place. The colors we were to use are Close To Cocoa, Certainly Celery, and Bashful Blue. I added a couple of safety pins to the ribbon and dazzling diamonds glitty to the water for a shimmery look. The sets I used are Boatloads of Love and Bundle of Joy. I typed the sentiment "Your new little package has arrived" on the computer and punched it out with the word window punch. I think these would be cute for military family birth announcements. Congratulation Brad and Catrina, and welcome to the world Julian.

Crazy Kid

I hope everyone had a great weekend. It was beautiful here. We took the boys to the beach yesterday. But it's back to work today! I have fallen SOOOO behind on my boys' scrapooks, so I've set a goal to complete 5 layouts a week. I don't know how realistic that is, but I'm going to share one each day this week with you that I've finished of Carter. This one is just some random pictures that I took of him early this spring. The poem in the bottom right corner of the left page says: sticky fingers, dirty face
rugs and pillows out of place
cars and tractors here and there
blocks and boats everywhere
gold and silver, I have none
but worth a million is my son!!!

You can click on the pictures to see them in larger format. Happy Monday!

Ready For Kindergarten

I was going to wait a few weeks before posting this project, but I was so excited about how it turned out, I just had to share! My nephew, Ryan, will be going into kindergarten this year, so I wanted to make him something just for him for his first day of school. I found this clear paint can at our LSS. I decorated the bottom half with Stampin' Up's new Primary Colors SSK. I love it so much that I've broke into my second kit already!! I only did the bottom half so you were able to see what's inside. I tied lots of ribbon around the handle and decorated the lids as well, with the new ABC lower alphabet and ABC images. The inside is filled with goodies that he'll need for school like an eraser, glue stick, scissors, crayons, jumbo paperclip, and mini composition notebook. I don't know how much he'll appriciate it, but I know his mommy will love it too!

The Bella/ Fella Finale!

I actually finished this card yesterday, but never had tme to post it...but here it is- Retailfellabella. I just got my new Priceless set, so I wanted to use that for this card too. Don't ask where I got the color combo. I used Groovy Guava, Close To Cocoa, Purely Pomegranate, Sahara Sand, and Mellow Moss. I colored the main image with watercolor crayons and the aqua painter. Bellas boots are flocked so they are fuzzy like suede. She also has glitter in her purse and the flowers on her jeans and shirt. Happy Saturday everyone!

It's Not All Black And White

That's today's challenge. We could only use black cardstock for the case, white cardstock for the stamped image, and only black ink for the stamp. No markers, WWC, or other coloring tools allowed. That was hard for me because I love to color my images. I just got this set, Batty For You, yesterday, so I pulled that out for this challenge. Today's posts ar egoing to be short because we have a big night ahead of us and so much to do before we leave. TGIF!!

Stamps: Batty For You
Ink: Black
Paper: Black, White, and Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, Creepy Crawly d.p.
Accessories: Ribbon, brads, Cuttlebug & embossing folder, corner rounder punch, circle punches, white gel pen, dimensionals

Huggybellas

Here is card #4 for bella/fella week. I got new paper by Heidi Grace last night and thought it would be quite pretty with the Huggybellas. I used Always Artichoke for the card base. I used 3 different pieces of the d.p. and used the cutter kit to distress the edges. The flowers and brads are also by H.G. I colored bellas with WWC and mounted them on black and A.Artichoke. I also used the new photo corner punch, which is my new favorite tool!

Golfafella

Happy hump day to all! I used Golfafella along with today's SCS (sketch) tent topper card challenge. They are super easy to make. Just cut your cardstock at 4.25" and 8.5". Fold in half to become a 4.25"x4.25" card. Then attatch your main image as your card topper. Place it as high or low above the card fold that you want, allowing it to fit into a standard A2 envelope. I used Always Artichoke for my card base. Then I added misc. patterned paper to the bottom half of the card and tied navy ribbon around the seam. I had some golf stickers laying around so I added one that says "sink the putt". I also used the Crop-A-Dile to added the new large pewter eyelets from SU! Fella is layed on a scalloped River Rock oval and mounted on dimensionals.

Wish Big!!

Today's SCS color challenge was to use Old Olive, Regal Rose, and Pretty in Pink. I used O. Olive as my card bse. I also used O. Olive ink to sponge the edges of the card. I used white craft ink for the sentiment "wish big" from the Short & Sweet set. The main image panel across the bottom is using the new Little Bits wheel and Little Flowers stamp set on white cardstock. Then I layered it on O' Olive, R. Rose, and P.in Pink. I wrapped organdy ribbon around it and added white gel pen dots along the O. Olive layer. And for the final touches I used the new photo corner punch and added olive brads to teh top left corner. Super simple card.

Expectafellabella

I decided to do a long card for this one. I used WIld Wasabi for the card base. The for the bottom half I used the new Cutie Pie d.p. I folded over the top portion and scalloped it so that you could see the backside of the paper. I tied a white organdy ribbon around it and added a couple safety pins. On the bottom I stamped the sentiment "congrats!" This is also from stamping bella. I used markers to color the main image and mounted it on Bashful Blue. I added afety pins to two of the corners and mounted the main image on dimensionals. Sorry for the terrible picture. Bad time of the day to take the picture.

The Bellas Are Back!!

It's been a while since I've posted a card using a bella, but Saturday I got a package full of new ones. So... each day this week you will get to meet them. First up is Giddyupabella. She works perfect for the new SU! Outlaw d.p. I used Really Rust for the card base. I scalloped the right edge. I layered a piece of d.p. onto the R.R. also scalloping the edge. I used a strip of Sage Shadow and another piece of d.p. down the left side. I added lots of brads and a "rope". Bella is colored with watercolor crayons and her horse is flocked. They are layered on R.R and I used the round tab punch with S. S. for the dentiment "howdy". I distressed everything with Chocolate Chip ink. Happy Monday to everyone!

Weekend Happenings

This weekend was busy, just like all of our weekends. I didn't have much time to stamp, so I'm going to share a few pictures with you of my boys during our outings. Friday night we went to the "train resturaunt" to celebrate Cameron's birthday that was on Thursday. It's such a cute, kid-friendly place. They bring your food out in baskets on a train. Then Saturday we had a wedding and reception for very good friends of ours. We only took Austin and Carter because Cameron spent the day with my mom. This lovely picture of Carter with "stuff" all over himself is in between the wedding and reception when we stopped home to regroup. He got ahold of my makeup bag and put foundation all over his lips like lip gloss. It squirted out all over himself and the carpet. His outfit was ruined, but I salvaged the carpet. Not what I wanted to deal with at that time, or ever really. Then today we went to my in-law's for a pig chasing party. Our 3 boys and our 3 older nephews all take pigs to our county fair. So about a month before that we get together on the weekends so the boys and pigs can get aquainted. I wasn't sure if Carter would have any interest this year, but he loved it. I guess he'll be taking a pig after all. We're still trying to come up with names for the pigs so I'm open to suggestions.

Let it Snow!

No, not really..but I wanted to use my new snowflake embossing folder. This card is for two challenges. Yesterday was Cameron's birthday , so I spent the day playing with him and didn't get to stamp. Yesterday's SCS challenge was to dress up those corners and today's is to use monochromatic colors (variations of the same colors). I love the new In Colors together, especially Soft Sky and Blue Bayou. I use B. Blue for the card base. Then I ran a piece of S. Sky through the Cuttlebug with the snowflake embossing folder. The band across the middle is Snow Flurries stamped in S. Sky onto S. Sky cardstock, then layered on B. Bayou. I also used the Cuttlebug for the slider and attached it white organdy ribbon. I stamped "let it snow" in B. Bayou onto S. Sky c.s. and punched it out with the circle punch. I added a snowflake charm. And for the corners I used the new corner punch for both colors and added a few brads to each one. I love how this turned out.

abc 6x6 Layout

Tonight I have a workshop, as I may have mentioned before, and I always start my demonstrations with a 6x6 layout. I keep one for my sample book, and give the other to the hostess. This way she can use this layout to build her page if she wants to use a bigger size layout- like a 12x12 (as I know this particular hostess does.) She has a little girl who will be starting preschool in the fall so I thought it is perfect timing for this one. Plus, this way I got to play with the new Primary Colors Simply Scrappin' Kit. I will be using it a lot for personal use as I have 2 little guys who will be in kindergarten and 3rd grade this year. I used More Mustard for the layout base. I used a piece of the d.p. for the photo mat and layered it on Real Red. FYI- the solid colored cardstock in this particular S.K. is textured. I used my new photo corner punch with another d.p. and lightly attached it to the corners of the photo mat. This way she can peel them back when she adds her picture. I used some of the abc cardstock stickers for the bottom corner. I only attached the photo mat on 3 sides because I wanted the lined paper to be able to be pulled out and used for journaling. I added a jumbo paperclip that I found at Walmart and tied on a few ribbons. I love how this one turned out!

Christmas In July!!

I love Christmas time, but I'm not ready for summer to be over. It's going way too fast. Today's SCS challenge was to use Not Quite Navy, Bordering Blue, Mellow Moss, and Always Artichoke was optional- but I used it. I have neglected this set, so I thought it was time to dust it off. I only have used it once since I got it in my starter kit. But while it's out I have a few other cards to use with it. I think this truck is cute pulling a trailer behind it, so I just used the back end of the truck for that and put a couple of Chrismas trees in the back. I used liquid applique on them to look like snow. This card was really simple. The only time consuming part was cutting out the truck, but I though simple was good incase I decide to mass produce these in the future.

Hostess Gift Box

This is a tiny box that I made for my hostess tomorrow night. I put an incentive stamp in it. I used Purely Pomegranite for the box. I used a strip of Darling Doodles d.p. around the middle of the box, along with a strip of Groovy Guava that I scalloped with the slit punch. I stamped "thank you" with white craft ink on the box from the new set- Short & Sweet.

Scratch-n-Sniff Strawberry Card

Today, with the intent to get my stamping mojo going, I whipped up this little 3x3 card using the scratch-n-stiff technique. I haven't done this one before now, so I wanted to give it a try. I plan on teaching it tomorrow at my workshop using a SU! set. I used Garden Green and Real Red for the colors. I stamped the strawberry from Papertrey on versamark onto the metal edge tag. I sprinkled on a mixture of strawberry kool aid and clear embossing powder. Then I heated it with the heat gun. I used marker to color the stem. When you scratch the strawberry you can smell the kool aid. I added a few gel pen dots and some paper piercing. I made it into a thank you card.

Friend-ship

Here is my first card using the new Boat Loads Of Love set. I used Real Red for the card base. I used markers to color in the main image and for the life preservers on the side I used the 1/2" circle punch and the 1 1/4" circle punch. I thought those added a fun little touch to the card. I'm thinking about making some of these as swap cards for regionals. What do you think?

House Mouse Images

I received a whole envelope of images from Laura yesterday. Thanks Laura! They are all so cute. The card that I made is using Chocolate Chip for the card base. The next layer is d.p. but you can hardly see it because the image is so big. The main image is watercolored and matted on Garden Green that I punched with the ticket corner punch. The mice and popcorn have flock on them. And there is dazzling diamonds on the word Sparkle on the pop can. Lots of coloring on this one. It took a while, but I love it!

My First Acetate Card

I made this for today's limited supplies challenge. You could use at least 2 flowers, 2 embellishments, and tools or backgrounds, and any sentiments. I started with a piece of acetate for my cardbase. I stamped the flourish from Doodle This with White Craft Ink. I also stamped "wish big" from the new Short & Sweet set, also with white. I stamped the flower twice with brown stazOn and water colored them with Soft Sky ink. I cut them out and mounted them together adding a rhinestone in the middle. It is mounted to the acetate with a dimensional. The iside is a square of white mounted on Certainly Celery and Soft Sky c.s. I stamped the flourishes and watercolored them as well. I stamped the sentiment Birthday Hugs & Wishes from the Hugs & Wishes set. Happy Friday the 13th!

Kim's Candy Container

Kimberly sent me this conatiner along with 3 other people. She bought them with the intent to decorate them. Instead she sent them out to the 4 of us and made it a little competition. I found it much harder than I thought. I'm not overly excited about it. I wanted to cover the bottom of the inside of the container, but I wasted way too much paper trying to cut it to fit- so forget it! For the lid I used Basic Grey's Oh Baby- Boy! paper. I brayered Brocade Blue ink onto the chipboard "e" and added a few primas. I put odds & ends embellishments inside. Thanks Kim for the challenge!

Tagged By Faith

Faith, aka Markiesmom tagged me a few days ago and I am to tell 7 things about myself. I've already done this recently, so I hope I don't bore you.
1. I am always cold, so I HAVE to wear socks to bed no matter what the temp. I usually always wear socks during the day unless it's really hot.
2. I am really shy. I signed up as a demonstrator hoping to change that, and I think it's working.
3. I don't have an athletic bone in my body. I played basketball in 6th grade though.
4. I also played the clarinet in 6th grade. Didn't stick with that long.
5. I got married just after I turned 19. WOW! I think about it now and I was nuts!! We are happily married though for going on 6 years!
6. I HATE mice. I don't mind so much if they are outside, but since we live in an old farm house in the country we get the occassional visitor. If I know they are there I freak out. Our cat is worthless too when it comes to keeping them out.
7. As a kid my dad was a wildlife coordinator-meaning if someone had an unwanted critter on their property he removed it. That means we've had some pretty AWESOME pets. We raised a deer in our dining room once. A farmer hit it with a tractor and broke it's leg. We had a pin put in his leg and kept him until he was well and returned him to his home.

I am supposed to tag 7 more people, but since I already tagged all of my friends-feel free to post 7 things about yourself on your blogs. I am not tagging anyone inparticular.

Lucky Duck Sippy Cup

It rhymed, I couldn't help myself. I bought this sippy cup by Playtex. It's one of those "Create Your Own" cups. It comes with few white inserts and you can do whatever to it. I had a hard time with the color combo because yellow isn't easy for me to use and I had no d.p. with those colors in it. So I went with my new set Bundled in Love along with Bundle of Joy. I kept it pretty plain because you can't fit many layers in it. It is hard for me not to use a lot of layers and embellishments and this is for my nephew, Brock, so I don't think he'll care!

Getting Organized- Part 1

With the start of a new catalog year, I've got this urge to clean, organize, and label everything in hopes of getting this business off the ground. It's been great so far, but I can always hope for better. These pictures are of the left wall in my room. This computer desk I won for free at one of the county fairs a few years ago. Hey- I'll take it for free. On the top are pictures of my boys. I added a little hodgepodge and organdy ribbon to add a little something to them. My printer and my little file/stacker thingy are on the top too. Then on the first shelf I have the SU! forget-me-not keepers with my cards in them. They are labeled Occassions, Bellas, and Seasonal. The second shelf has the SU! paper keepers. One for each color family, In Colors, Neutrals, 12x12 cardstock, and overstock. On the two little shelves I have two ivory canvas baskets, one for envelopes and one for TAC stamps. The one door has the boys' scrapbooks in it and the bottom drawer has retired SU! stamps. On the computer desk part has the obvious, computer, basket with business cards, color caddy, camera, and easel for photographing my cards. Underneath is all of my magazines and on the tower is all of my SU! d.p.

Happiness

I made this star box with the tutorial that was on last week's (or maybe two weeks ago) Weekly Inkling on SCS. It was pretty easy, but I wish I had the directions before the 4th of July because these would have been perfect for that. I wanted to give it a try anyways, so I used the paper from the Friends & Flowers SSK (retired). The tag is stamped with one of the flowers from Bodacious Bouquet and the word Happiness from Warm Words. I have no idea what I'm going to use it for or who I'm going to give it to, but it's pretty darn cute if you ask me.

Just Beecause

Here is the first card I made with Amanda's little bee images that she sent me the other day. These little guys are the cutest. I used Night Of Navy for my card base. The next layer is River Rock, followed by patterned paper. The main image is colored with SU! markers and matted on River Rock and Night Of Navy. The tab on the right says "just beecause"I added some polka dot ribbon and a few brads. Oh yeah- there is dazzling diamonds on their wings. This card look kind if masculine to me. I think it's the colors I used. Anyway- I just wanted to share with all of you that I will be attending the Louisville regionals in September. I have registered and booked my hotel room , AND the best part is I finally get to meet Ashley!I feel like I've know her for a long time though. And I'm anxious to meet other demos out there too!! Happy Hump Day!!

Propel Into The New Catalog Year!

I made these Propel water bottle packets for my hostess appriciation party this coming weekend. I used a 2 1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock. I scored it at 3" and 7". Folded the 3" score back and the 7" score upward and kept it closed with a strip of d.p. for the pocket. I punched a hole with the 1 3/4" punch to slip over the bottle neck. I stuck in a packet of Propel and there you have it.

Blogger Bingo Sketch #3

Here is today's SCS color challenge, along with Julee's sketch for blogger bingo. We were to use Green Galore, Real Red, and Tempting Turqouise. I always shy away from bright colors so I'm glad to do this challenge today. The birds are from Zoofari and the sentiments is from Hugs & Wishes. Both are available in the new SU! catalog.

Bodacious Bugs

Here are the ATC's I just finished for Amanda's bug swap. They are on their way to Cali this morning. I hope everyone enjoys them.

Stamps: Bodacious Bouquet, Bugs & Kisses
Paper: Bo Bunny d.p. & Cool Caribbean c.s.
Ink: Ruby Red, Cool Caribbean, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Ribbon, rhinestone brads, dazzling diamonds, dimensionals, corner rounder punch, white gel pen

Monday, July 9, 2007

Okay- no title for this one either I guess. What is going on? I got happy mail today. I signed up for a Bella swap a while back and they came today. They are so cute. My friend, Amanda hosted this swap. Along with the ATC's , she sent me this adorable card and the bee images. They are so cute! I'll be making a crad with one of those later today. Thanks Amanda!!!!!!

Doin' The Happy Dance!!

We got home this afternoon from all our festivities and Carter has peed on the potty 3 times!!! He's not even 2 yet, so we aren't pushing the potty training yet, but if he wants to go we let him. He has shown a major interest this weekend. And Grandma's not going to have to water her flowers for a while *wink wink*. Anyway- here is Superbella. I don't have her yet, but I was sent a few images of her and wanted to give her a try today. The card base is Ruby Red. I folded it over and sliced off a chunk on the right side where it opens. I scalloped the card back and added white gel pen dots. This is considered a gate fold card. I've never done one of these before, but wanted to try something different. Bella is colored in with Prismacolor markers and mounted on Bashful Blue. The Blue is folded in half backwards and mounted on the insided of the card. Then the front stayes closed when I tuck it under the flowers on the front. I used the computer for the sentiment "have a SUPER birthday"! and punched it out with the word window punch.

I guess some people are having trouble adding a title to their posts today, and apparently I am one of them. I just wanted to share with you a picture we took today. We spent all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Dustin's grandma's. His mom has 3 brothers that live out of state and this is the weekend that they and their families came home. I'm glad it's over because we are all overly tired, but we had so much fun. I have never been around a group of people that have so much fun together. This picture is of the grandkids, except for me and my brother-in-law. Grandma insisted that we are grandkids too, so we had to be in the picture. That is me in the back row in the orange shirt, and Dustin is next to me in the yellow. My sis-in-law, Erin, that I always talk about- is also in the back row in the red shirt. Her husband, Tony, is next to her. Hope everyone stayed cool this weekend. It was hot here.

One-derful 1 !!

Corny title, I know, but I think the layout turned out cute. I borrowed this set, By Land, from Erin. I've used it for several things now that I've had for a few days, but I'm not quite ready to give it back yet. These are pictures that I had taken of Carter just before he turned one last August. I had a scrap of the "transportation" d.p. left from swap cards that I had made, so that is where the theme came from . Since his shirt in the pictures is so dark I wanted to soften it a little by pulling out the light blue that you can barely see. I also used So Saffron and Creamy Carmel. It's funny when I look at these pictures because he was so bald! Almost a year later and 4 haircuts he has a full head of hair!

Workshop Reminder Cards

Speaking of reminders, my s-i-l didn't hesitate to remind me that I haven't posted an over abundance of stuff this week. It's been so busy with family, and the holiday, and running Austin to camp everyday- I've only been able to post one thing instead of two or three like usual. So because I know she's not home and can't get to a computer I'm going to post several things. These little ATC sized reminders were made with inspiration from Amanda, who made something similar several weeks ago. I used black as the base color, then matted it with the new In Color, Soft Sky. Then I stamped the flowers from Papertrey that came in the set Green Thumb. I stamped some of them in black and some in Soft Sky using the other color for the centers. I used the word window punch for the two tabs. This is where I will write in the date and time of the upcoming event as a reminder. My info is on the back. I stamped the lady from Stampin' Fun For Everyone. I watercolored her and matted her on Groovy Guave, another new In Color. I also stamped "Nifty Stamps" from the same set, punched it out and mounted it on a dimensional. Thanks again Amanda for the inspiration! TGIF!!!

Beep, Beep

I hope everyone had a happy and safe 4th! We were supposed to thunderstorms, but never did & it turned out to be a wonderful day. We had a lot to do, but that's better than nothing to do I guess. Here's yesterday's SCS sketch challenge. I used Night of Navy for the cardbase. I used three different coordinating patterned papers for the background. I put two siver brads at the bottom right corner. I colored directly on the car stamp from the By Land set, with SU! markers. I used the paper peircer on the corners and matted it on Old Olive. I also used the round tab punch for the BEEP stamp.

Pretty, Pink Daisy

Today's SCS color challenge was to use Pretty In Pink, Old Olive, and Chocolate Chip. I love those colors together. I had these Gerbera Daisy (TAC) images laying on my desk, from my s-i-l, so that's what I decided to use. I went with Chocolate Chip as my card base, followed by Old Olive, and Pretty In Pink. I colored the daisy with watercolor crayons and blender with an aqua painter. I matted it on C. Chip. I put dazzling diamonds in the center. I used the ticket corner punch for the corners. The sentiment (Stamping Bella) is stamped on white and matted on P. in Pink, O. Olive, and C. Chip. I also added a white organdy ribbon. And now I'm off to the fireworks. Have a fun night!

The Unexpected Embellishement

I finally got yesterday and today's challenges done. Yesterday's was to use an "unexpected embellishment" on your card. Some samples used spoons, Q-tips, and such things. Well, I couldn't come up with anything yesterday- so I skipped the challenge. That's why they call it a challenge, right!!?? Today while doing dishes I looked over at the counter and saw this box of sparklers and it came to me. I printed the sentiment "you light my fire" on the computer and attached 3 sparklers to my card. I gave it to Dustin tonight and he said..."gee, thanks for the fire hazard! This is probably illegal in some states". I thought it was pretty clever, corny, but clever!

Autumn Harvest Part 2

Here is the second page to the layout I posted last night. This one is just a blown up pic of Carter with the pumpkin he picked out to bring home. It was almost as big as him! I kept it pretty simple. I'm trying to get caught up on layouts and SCS challenges for this week. Happy Tuesday!

Autumn Harvest

This is Part 1 of a fall layout for Carter that I've been working on today. I'll post the other half tomorrow when it's finished. I didn't even get to make any cards today:( Oh well- there's always tomorrow.

Tag.....I'm It.....Again....

The very talented Kimberly tagged me along with 6 other crafty bloggers. We are to tell 7 unknown facts about ourselves and tag 7 more people.

1.) I broke my wrist in 6th grade playing basketball at recess.
2.) I loved being pregnant, except for the morning sickness part, and am kinda sad that I will never be again.
3.) I am a former preschool teacher, and hopefully will be back in the classroom when my boys are older.
4.) Our oldest son was born just before I turned 17, two years before we got married.
5.) I hope my brother settles down soon and has a baby...girl. I want a neice to spoil!
6.) I don't know how to swim.

I Am Determined...

...to win one of Julee's bingo games, so here is yet another sketch for the game. This one uses the Little Lady set from Papertrey. I can't remember who the dp is made by, but it matches perfectly with the flower stamp. We were supposed to go swimming today with family, but those plans got cancelled. We actually get to stay home today! I am thrilled because I am trying to organize my stamp room (formerly known as our bedroom). My husband says we just sleep in the stamp room. Someday I WILL have my own stamp room and we can have our bedroom back, but until then...we'll make do!
