Big Bear Hugs

I loved this sketch Julee provided for this week's Mojo Monday sketch. It was just enough to get my mojo going, but not too much that it's overwhelming. I have a to-do list that is growing quickly and this card got me in the mood to keep pluggin' along to get that list a little shorter. As soon as I saw this sketch I knew what set I wanted to use. I pulled out my Bear Hugs set by C.C. designs. It can be purchased at ATS. I paired up this set with SU! Autumn Vine d.p., that will be available for purchase October 1st. This card is going to a friend who is having a tough time right now. I will be back soon to share a project that the daycare kids have been working hard on. It's been a while since I posted a kids' craft.

Happy Waiting!

I have lots of mommy-to- be- friends who are expecting babies within the next several months, so I try to send thenm each a card every few months to let them know I'm thinking of them during their pregnacies. I made this one using today's SCS sketch. I used more of Stampin' Up's new paper. This time from the Washington Apple collection. I paper pieced bella's shopping bags as well as her shirt. I wanted to use that print for her shirt, but the pattern on the original sheet of d.p. was way too big, so I shrunk it down on my printer. Then I cut it out and popped it up on dimensionals so she really looks pregnant. That's about it for this one! Happy Hump Day!

Hello Sunshine- Mojo Monday #52

I had the chance to work on Julee's Mojo Moday sketch, and this is what I came up with. Yesterday started of rainy and gloomy here in Ohio, but quickly cleared up and became sunny. The boys love to go out chasing butterflies and stomping in the puddles. That is where the inspiration for this card came from. I pulled out Lily and her accessories. I usually use Billy when I reference my boys, but it was a nice to change to use Lily. I used some of Stampin' Up's new d.p. called Rainbow Sherbert. It has some fun, cheery colors so that's why I chose that line of d.p. I paper piece Lily's rain coat and boots. Do you see that she is standing in a puddle on the sidewalk catching butterflies? That's exactly what the boys would do!

SCS Sketch Challenge 192

It's been a while since I've been able to participate in a SCS challenge. But now that all the boys are in school, I'll have a little extra time to do all the things I want to do (yeah right)! I still had the Just Jawing set out from the other day so I thought it would be fun to use with this sketch. I love the Ghostly Greetings D.P. The little skeletons work perfectly with this set. After stamping the skull on whisper white cardstock with Basic Grey ink, I thought it needed a little color. I stamped the eyes of the skull again on Pumpkin Pie, added a little glitter, cut them out, and popped them up on dimensionals. It added just the right amount of color. Makes it stand out! I kind of like how it turned out.
