Twinkle Twinkle

I know it's been several days since I have posted, but in all honesty I haven't felt like it. Mainly because my mojo is on vacation, but also because the weather has been rediculous here and I just haven't been motivated. Today I had a little time to give the color challenge on SCS a try. We were to use Close To Cocoa, So Saffron, and Bashful Blue. I am waiting on a shipment of Copics that would have worked a little better when coloring my image (not as bright) but I had to use what I have for now. The card itself is very simple. Nothing fancy, but I did want to show you another one of the adorable Sweet Pea images. I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far.

What A Stinky Week

I am so glad the week is behind us and hope for a much better one next week. The kids had another snow day yesterday, so I decided to take the day off from blogging to referee mostly. This weekend I am preping my house and food for our Super Bowl party that we are having tomorrow. I could care less about football, but love having people over so I'll be in the kitchen most of time making sure everyone is full and happy. The last card I have this week using the Forest Friends set was for this week's SCS sketch challenge. It's been a while since I've participated in that challenge! I again used the black and white polka dotted d.p. I wanted a splash of color so I added Always Artichoke. It's a pretty simple card, but I like it. Today I hope to get my Super Bowl project posted for you, but no promises. Have a great day!

C.C. Designs Meets Today's SCS Color Challenge

I feel like I make excuses when I haven't been posting daily. I feel guilty , but I shouldn't. I've been nursing a cold and now Carter has it, so I haven't felt much like stamping. I must admit that I cased this card for the most part with one that Lauren made yesterday. I used today's color combo for the SCS color challenge which is Riding Hood Red, Taken With Teal, Baja Breeze, and White. There are a few things I would change now that I look at it, but oh well. I do have other things I want to share, but I want these gifts to get to the recipients before posting them.

From Our House To Yours

This is the last of my new Riley Moose stamps. This is Santa Riley. I used him to combine Julee's Mojo Monday sketch and this week's SCS color challenge of Real Red, Black, and Kraft. Everything on the card is SU! except for the main image. I colored him with Copics and used liquid applique for his beard and hat. The rest is pretty basic. Make sure to scroll down for my earlier post.

There's No Place Like Home For The Holidays

This card is using yesterday's scs sketch challenge. I rotated the sketch a little to work with my main image. I'm loving the Boards & Beams and Home For The Holidays sets from PTI. I also used Martha Stewart's snowflake punch and d.p. from SU's I Wish SSK.I used Copics to color everything and added lots of glitter. Now I'm off and running to the grocery store.

Merry Christmoose!

I just love moose images and this is one of my favorites that I got last year from High Hopes. This will be the Christmas card that I give one of my daycare families because the mom loves moose as well. I used Wednesday's SCS sketch challenge for my layout. My main image was a little big for the panel it was supposed to fit on, so I just trimmed around the tree to make it fit. I use the Frosty Day d.p. from SU! and the chocolate ribbon from the SU! Alpine collection. And I just picked up this snowflake punch today by Martha Stewart.

Thank You For Your Friendship

I made this card for Wednesday's SCS sketch challenge. I love the Upsy Daisy set. I know I've said it before, but it is so versitile. I also love the sketch for this week. It was a great opportunity to use some of that Urban Garden d.p. I've been hoarding. I embossed the flowers in white on the main panel. I've got lots to do today to prep for my annual SU! Ghouls Night Out party, so I better run! TGIF!!

Happy Thanksgiving, Happy Fall

It is definately fall here in Ohio. This week has been cool and damp. Not the kind of fall that I love, but hopefully we'll get there. This card is what I came up with for yesterday's SCS color challenge. We were to use Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, and Really Rust. What a great fall color combo, soI pulled out my new Happy Blessings set from the SU! holiday mini catalog. Just a quick post today. No time for details because I'm off to take Hemi to the vet. Hopefully we'll be back with a good report and today's sketch challenge.

Happy Waiting!

I have lots of mommy-to- be- friends who are expecting babies within the next several months, so I try to send thenm each a card every few months to let them know I'm thinking of them during their pregnacies. I made this one using today's SCS sketch. I used more of Stampin' Up's new paper. This time from the Washington Apple collection. I paper pieced bella's shopping bags as well as her shirt. I wanted to use that print for her shirt, but the pattern on the original sheet of d.p. was way too big, so I shrunk it down on my printer. Then I cut it out and popped it up on dimensionals so she really looks pregnant. That's about it for this one! Happy Hump Day!

Orangy Javabellas

This card I made for last Friday's SCS Limited Supplied Challenge. We had to use coffee images and the color orange. I love the Hawaii Papaya paper. The colors are warm and fallish. I also used Taylor's Cupcake Challenge Sketch for the layout.

SCS Sketch Challenge 192

It's been a while since I've been able to participate in a SCS challenge. But now that all the boys are in school, I'll have a little extra time to do all the things I want to do (yeah right)! I still had the Just Jawing set out from the other day so I thought it would be fun to use with this sketch. I love the Ghostly Greetings D.P. The little skeletons work perfectly with this set. After stamping the skull on whisper white cardstock with Basic Grey ink, I thought it needed a little color. I stamped the eyes of the skull again on Pumpkin Pie, added a little glitter, cut them out, and popped them up on dimensionals. It added just the right amount of color. Makes it stand out! I kind of like how it turned out.

"Owl" Be Yours

This card follows today's SCS sketch. I've had this "owl" set for a while now from October Afternoon. I don't even know what it's called, but that means it's been neglected. My mom was an owl collector when I was a kid, so this card reminds me of my old house and all of those owl collectables that she had. Just the other day I downloaded and printed Papertrey Ink's downloadable try before you buy paper. You can find this right from their home page. This sketch was the perfect use for it. I cut it into strips and adhered it to Very Vanilla, then mounted that to the Chocolate Chip card base. I stamped the owl with Timber Brown Stazon onto Very Vanilla c.s, then matted it onto Kraft and a Chocolate Chip square scallop. I tied on some chocolate twill ribbon and stamped the sentiment onto Kraft c.s. and punched it out with the Word Window punch. That's it for today. I'm hoping to get more things added to my etsy shop. Be sure to check it out!

Live, Love, Laugh And Then Some

That is the title in the header of my sweet downline, Haley's blog. Why am I telling you this, you ask? Today's SCS IC was to find inspiration in someone's web design. It can be the layout, colors, the header, or whatever you want. I went with all of those things as inspiration for my card. As soon as I saw this challenge I knew her blog would be the one I would use. I love the colors together- chocolate chip, rose red, pumpkin pie, and olive green. And I also knew that the flower fusion felt flowers would be a perfect match for this as well. So, here's what I did... the base of the card is Rose Red. The next layer is Chocolate Chip stamped with random flowers with white and Old Olive craft ink. Next is another layer, this time Old Olive. I wanted to give the feel of the title of the header, so I used the word Love and Cherish. stamped in Chocolate Chip. Those are the closest I had to the actual title (Live, Love, Laugh and then some). Next is the thin strip of Pumpkin Pie through the middle, and I actually stamped the word cherish on this layer. Then I printed the quote she has on her header on the computer and printed it out, rounded the corners and added a few felt flowers. Lastly, I added several more felt flowers to the top right corner and some buttons. I hope I did Haley proud on this one and if you haven't already- head over to her blog, check out her header, and give her a shout out and let her know I sent ya! Oh, I did get a chance to get Lauren's SAturday sketch done, but I also have one from her sketch from last Saturday so I will post them both tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Little Monkey

In just a couple of weeks on August 10th, my baby boy will turn 3. I'm having a tough time with this.....well, because he's "the baby"! He's every bit as outgoing as his big brothers and no longer clings to my leg when someone talks to him. In fact, he loves to talk on the phone and has even started calling all of his grandmas to pick him up so he can spend the day with them. He's a busy body- doesn't like to stay home (like his momma!) and so independent! In about a month he'll be off to preschool. I think that is going to be a tough day..for mommy! Anyway- I made this card for his birthday using yesterday's SCS Ways To Use It Challenge. We were to use the negative of something, be it stencils, chipboard, reverse masking. You get the idea. I opted for the negative piece of the chipboard star. I always save the negative pieces, but rarely use them, so this was a great challenge for me! The sock monkey is a sneek peek from one of the great sets in the upcoming SU! catty. My wonderful friend, Dawn, sent me a few of the images because I don't have this set yet. You can see her awesome SCS gallery here. I'll be back (hopefully) a little later with today's SCS challenge, but no promises. I'm having a garage sale today and tomorrow. TGIF!!

I've Jumped On The Copic Bandwagon

I have wanted Copic markers for a long time, but I've held out longer than most people. Mainly because of the cost and I'm not really sure if I can color with them as well as some of the bloggers out there. Well, I broke down the other day and bought a set from ATS. They have shipped and hopefully they will be here by the end of the week so I can give them a try. For now it's SU! markers or Prismacolor markers. Today I had a chance to work on the SCS sketch challenge. It's a pretty simple sketch so it didn't take long at all to finish. I used Walkabout Walley and the sentiment from High Hopes. The d.p. is retired from SU!

So Kind

Today I wanted to participate in the SCS color challenge. We were to use Kraft, Soft Sky, and Black. These colors are great together. I needed a few thank you's for birthday gifts that were given to me, so I used the butterfly and trail as well as the sentiment- So Kind from the Stampin' Up! set, Priceless.

A Little Dirt Never Hurt

I just love this little guy from High Hopes. I thought this sentiment from TAC would be perfect for this because I know my boys wouldn't be able to be outside playing with frogs without getting covered in dirt! I used yesterday's SCS sketch challenge for the layout and also Ashley's Brainwave challenge for the colors. They are perfect for this boy card. I used a pencil eraser in Creamy Carmel ink for the dirt smudges on the little boy. For a fun touch I also used a second stamped image of the boy and cut out his face and feet and adhered them to the original for dimansion. Hope you like it!

You Make Me Smile!
Click on picture to enlarge for detail

Today's SCS challenge was to create a double pocket card. You can find the tutorial here. They are so easy to make. Mine took less that 10 minutes and that included coloring and typing the poem on the inserts. The poem reads: Dead bug trasures, old bird feathers; mud pies bring such joy! Frogs that jump and trucks that bump...It's great to be a boy. After coloring my little guy I decided that he looked too clean, so I smudged ink on him to make him look dirty. I also put crystal effects on the frog to make him look wet and slimy! Hope you're having a great Monday! *Erin- we need more images. Carter was having a fit when he saw that I was using "his" frogs that Aunt Erin gave him!
