Best Wishes

Tonight we have a wedding to go to. This is the card I made for the couple. So Billy is taking a break today. I have a few more cards I want to share using Billy, but they'll have to wait until we get home from vacation. This will be my last post until we get back. I hope everyone has a great weekend and week. Have a safe 4th of July and Happy 86th Birthday Grandma Payne!

Color-Your-Own-Pillowcase

I loved Lauren's sleepover survival kit using Billy in his pj's, so I came up with a similar idea. Part of Lauren's kit was to color your own pillowcase that was stamped with Billy and his little sock monkey. I wanted to use that idea, but in a different way than her sleepover kit. Since we are going on vacation SOON, my kids, especially Cameron who is almost 6 wants to count down on the calendar every night how many "sleeps" until we go. I decided to do the pillowcase coloring idea, with a poem that I wrote for the kids. Then they can color them before we go. I bought them their own travel size pillows and white pillowcases to keep with them in the car. I stamped Billy on the pillowcase with black stazon ink. Then Austin colored this one in with regular crayola crayons. I then heat set it with wax paper over the picture with a hot iron for just a couple minutes. The poem I wrote reads:

It's nearly time for our vacation afar.

To get there we must spend hours in the car.

So you are not cranky, you'll need to get some sleep.

Here's a blankie and pillow, they are yours to keep.

Before we hit the road, the pillowcase you can color.

It's unique, it's you own,

so you don't fight with your brothers!

MVP

Today's card will be given to Cameron after his last t-ball game this Saturday. He has grown so much since last summer, from pouting in the out field because he wanted snack ...NOW or hiding behind us instead of sitting with his team mates. He's quite the little pitcher too! The colors for this card are that of his t-ball team, orange and black. I hope everyone is enjoing their week so far!

A Little Dirt Never Hurt

Today Billy reminded me of Bob The Builder, so I went with that "theme" as I created this card. THe sentiment I used "a little dirt never hurt" is one I've had for quite a while from TAC. I'm not sure what the set is called. I used the sanded background stamp on the card base, added the sentiment, a little paper piercing. a screw brad, and some construction d.p., and there you have it...one dirty little construction worker.

Friend. Good.

Good Monday morning everyone! I hope you had a good weekend. We are jumping right into this week with Julee's Mojo Monday sketch. I have several more Billy cards for you this week, so I hope you're not tired of seeing his cute little face. For this card I used SU! retired Outlaw designer series paper and Smarty Pants stamp set. Dress Up Billy is from Pink Cat Studio. Enjoy your day!

You Make Me Smile!

Well, it's finally Friday. I couldn't be happier. We leave for vacation 10 days. I am so nervous about this and I'm not sure why. I hope it goes well or it'll be a very long time before I can convince Dustin to do this again. Today's Billy is just too sweet. I used my new Basic Grey paper that I really didn't want to cut into. I just wanted to hoard it. But it's perfect for this little guy holding his dinosaur.

Cub Scout Billy

Our oldest son, Austin, just finished scouts for the year so I made this card for him. This will be his last year in it because with 3 boys trying to do too many activities at once, we had to eliminate some things. He decided that scouts was his least favorite. Dad was happy because he was his den leader for the past two years and not by choice! I was hoping that Dress Up Billy would have a pinewood derby car to go with him, but Melissa took note of that and said possibly in the future when she comes out with more accessories for him there will be one in there.

You Set My Heart A Blaze!

I was so excited to get my Dress up Billy set in the mail yesterday from Pink Cat Studio. There are so many fun things in this set! I'll be making cards with this set all week because it's so fun to use, especially since I have 3 boys! This card is made a little differently than the normal card A2 card that I usually stick to. My card base is 5x5 square. I chopped pff all but 2" of the front flap of the card. I stamped Billy on white, then punched him out with my Marvy Giga Scallop Punch. Then I used the Coluzzle to cut out 2 circle to mat together, one Real Red and one YoYo Yellow. I used white craft ink to stamp the hatchets across the bottom of the inside of the card. I made up my own computer generated sentiment on the computer. To keep it closed I used black gingham ribbon and tied it between the scallop and hte circle layers. That's about it! Have a great Wednesday.

So Kind

Today I wanted to participate in the SCS color challenge. We were to use Kraft, Soft Sky, and Black. These colors are great together. I needed a few thank you's for birthday gifts that were given to me, so I used the butterfly and trail as well as the sentiment- So Kind from the Stampin' Up! set, Priceless.

So Hoppy For You Mojo Monday Sketch

So much to say...so little time.

First, I want to thank everyone for their sympathy for the loss of my husband's uncle last weekend. Also, thanks to all of my awesome blogger friends for the birthday wishes on Thursday. Unfortunately, that was the day of the funeral so I was slightly overlooked. It was to be expected though. Things are slowly returning to normal. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. My stamping mojo was definately lost. Julee's mojo Monday sketch helped to bring it back. Expect to hear from me everyday for the next two weeks. Then we are going on vacation for a week to Myrtle Beach! I can't wait. This will be our first family vacation. If you have any tips on how to keep three boys entertained in the car for 13 hours, feel free to let me know!

About the card...like I said I used Julee's sketch for the layout. I used the frog from my Snips N' Snails set Pond Pals for the main image. Everything else is pretty basic. I know that I had mentioned having a new release this month, but with everything that's been going on this got put on the back burner. I hope to have one for you in July though. As soon as I know, you'll know! Have a great Monday.

Anyone Can Be A Father

I'm sorry I've been away for so long. Last weekend was my girls' weekend away at the cottage. It was so great to get away, but unfortunately while we were gone my sister-in-law and I got a phone call that we were not expecting. My husband's uncle (and hers) passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning. We stayed until Saunday morning, but I was anxious to get home to see if there was anything I can do for the family. Their uncle was a life long dairy farmer, which will now be run by his only son, who is just 20. This is where Austin's dairy calves are that he will be taking to the fair, so we have been spending every evening on the farm doing chores. Today is Austin's last day of school, so he will be there every morning as well. Tomorrow is the funeral and is also my birthday. I'm sure I won't feel much like celebrating. So this is why I've been away from my computer for a while. This morning I was able to take a few minutes to complete Julee's Mojo Monday sketch. Although there was no stamping involved, it felt good to sit for a few minutes anyway and create. This card will be for my husband from the boys for Father's Day. The sentiment sticker says: Anyone can be a father; it takes someone special to be a dad. The paper I used is from Three Bugs In A Rug.

Soccer Star

Here is the last layout in Austin's scrapbook. He just had his birthday, so it's time to start a new scrapbook. The boys get a new one each year for their birthdays. I have most of my scrapping supplies packed away for the weekend, so I have little to work with here at home. This is what I came up with for this layout though. I am getting excited to spend the weekend with my friends/family. Tomorrow can't get here fast enough!

Cheers To My Girls Erin, Kristy, & Reggie

This weekend the girls and I are going away for a long weekend, staying in a cottage, and working on scrapbooks. The best part- no kids or husbands! We're hoping to hit the pool, go to dinner, have a few big girl drinks, and maybe getting some scrappin' done too! See you tomorrow girls!

Blizzard Bill Spencer

He's so close Cameron has to look up at him
Blizzard Bill getting a shot of the club to put on the 11:00 news

Last night at the boys' 4-H meeting, we had a guest speaker come in and talk to the club. For those of you not from the Northwest Ohio area, this will have little meaning to you. Our speaker was Blizzard Bill Spencer, the meteorologist from 13abc. The kids thought it was so cool. He was right in front of me the whole time, so it was hard to get good pictures because he was so close, and he moved constantly so most turned out blurry. It was really informative. We learned a lot about thunderstorms and tornadoes, things I did not know. My boys loved it.

Independence Day-Mojo Monday #40

I think this is a first.....a Mojo Monday sketch on a Monday! The weekend was busy as usual with graduation parties and t-ball games, but it was nice. I have no daycare kiddies this morning and Carter went to Grandma's house so I had time to make a card with Julee's sketch. It was a little harder than usual, but I needed a little challenge to get the creative juices flowing this morning! I've had the set Independence Day for a while now and it's never been inked up. Today I was determined to use it, but I'm not sure I'm please with the outcome. Now I'm headed outside to play ball with Cameron. Have a great Monday!
