What A Stinky Week

I am so glad the week is behind us and hope for a much better one next week. The kids had another snow day yesterday, so I decided to take the day off from blogging to referee mostly. This weekend I am preping my house and food for our Super Bowl party that we are having tomorrow. I could care less about football, but love having people over so I'll be in the kitchen most of time making sure everyone is full and happy. The last card I have this week using the Forest Friends set was for this week's SCS sketch challenge. It's been a while since I've participated in that challenge! I again used the black and white polka dotted d.p. I wanted a splash of color so I added Always Artichoke. It's a pretty simple card, but I like it. Today I hope to get my Super Bowl project posted for you, but no promises. Have a great day!

Such A Deer

I'm posting this a little later than usual. The kids had a two-hour delay this morning. Imagine that! Then Carter and I headed to town to get groceries. The roads were pretty crumby so it took us forever to get there and back. But we are back and it's time to get down to business. This is the card that I made for Julee's Mojo Monday sketch. I love her sketches! The card size this time is 4.25"x 4.25" square. The d.p. I used is from the Mr.Campy line by Cosmo Cricket. The set again is Forest Friends from PTI. At the end of the week I'm hoping to share with you some ideas for Super Bowl. Stay tuned!

Another Snow Day Little Stinker!

I don't know about you, but I'm REALLY tired of winter. We are stuck inside yet another day because by the time it is all said and done today, we will have gotten 10 or so inches of snow (on top of what was already on the ground!). The kids are home.....again. I don't think they have a had a full week of school since before Christmas! That brings me to my next PTI Forest Friends card. This one is for Valentine's Day. I love the skunk with the "little stinker" sentiment. The "Happy Valentine's Day" is a misc. stamp that I had laying around. The black and white d.p. is old. I have not idea where it came from. I did get to work on the Mojo Monday sketch yesterday, but will wait until tomorrow to post that card. Have a great snow day!

Such A Deer

I have had the set Forest Friends, from PTI, since it's new release last month and have had a hard time using it. I'm not sure why, but the ideas jus weren't coming to me. But everytime I look at this set, it reminds me of Bambi. We've been watching that a lot at our house lately. Now I'm on a roll and have come up with lots of cards using this set. For the next few days I'm either going to enable you to buy it or annoy you and make you want to see something else! Today's card uses the deer from the set. I made two cards with it. Same layout, just changed the sentiments. I jope you all have a great day. I'm plan to work on the Mojo Monday sketch from yesterday!

Cupcake Take Along Tote

I've said this a million times over, but if you haven't purchased any of Lauren's Timeless Templates from PTI, then you are missing out big time! They are such a great way to dress up you gift packaging. This time I used part of the Take Along Tote. The great thing about these templates is that you can use just parts of them to create really cool things. So this gift will be going to my nephews for Valentine's Day. I like to get them a little something for all of the holidays with out spending a lot and I like to get them something that they can do together. It usually involves food! This time is no different and who doesn't love cupcakes?! If you'd like more specific instructions on how to make one of your own, please visit Nichole Heady's blog here. She has easy to follow instructions with measurements, but you need to purchase the Take Along Template to complete this project.

For A Special Boy

Where did the week go? I'm not complaining. I'm so glad it's Friday, but there just isn't enough time to get everything done! Unfortunately, blogging hasn't been a priority lately. Sorry about that. But I do have a few things to share with you over the next several days. Today I have a card that I made for one of my daycare children that will be turning three next week. His hair looks just like this little boy's! This image is from Stamping Bella. As much as I'd love to, I can't buy all of them gifts. But I do make each and everyone a birthday card that is just for them. They seem to like that. TGIF!!

Happy 10th Birthday

Yesterday Austin had a birthday party for a friend that was turning 10. It was hard coming up with a card for that age. Especially a boy. They could care less right now about a hand stamped card, so I didn't want to spend too much time on it. I used the deer from Natures Silhouette and the Happy Birthday sentiment is from Family Phrases. Today is the first day of the new 2009 Spring /Summer Stampin' Up! catalog! I have a few thigs that I'm going to order today, so keep checking back for cards and projects using new product! Happy Monday!

Puppy Love

This is Hemi's Valentine's Treat. I found this lollipop type thing at Walmart. It says Puppy Kiss. She can eat the whole thing, stick and all. It's made from Peanut Butter and other things that puppies love. I don't have an dog stamps, except this Lucky stamp from the C.C. Designs Winter Time Fun set from last year. I just colored and cut out Lucky and put a little heart in his paws! I guess I need to build my collection of puppy stamps since I am now a dog owner.
I used Lauren's Lollipop Along template for this one. It came together rather quickly since it's for the dog I didn't take the time to add alot of bling to it! It was a hard to get a photo without a glare, but you get the idea.

Here is Hemi watching me photograph this project, wondering why I wouldn't let her have it right now!

Friend To Friend

Here is another card I whipped up for Valentine's Day. I admit that I don't really like it. It's a little busy. I was picturing in my head opening this little envelope and all these hearts (love) came pouring out into the wind (the swirls cuttlebug background). I used the items in the Love You Much Bundle again for this one. And the little envelope was created using the mini envelope Sizzix die.

Hope Your Day Is The Sweetest Ever!

Where have all my blog readers gone? I have noticed on the other blogs that I visit daily that traffic is down, so I know it's just not me. But I look forward to reading your comments, so if you like what ya see....let me know. It'll brighten my day. And if you have a blog I'll be sure to drop you a comment as well! That being said on to today's card. I made this one using Lauren's Saturday Sketch for my s-i-l's birthday coming up on Tuesday. We will be celebrating together tomorrow over dinner, and she's already gotten and spent her gift certificate that I got her, so why should her card be a surprise! The color combo came from the ribbon that I picked up on a recent excursion to Michael's. The stamp set is Crazy For Cupcakes from Stampin' Up. Happy (early) Birthday Erin Marie! See you tomorow!

Candy Airplane

I'm officialy wore out! I haven't slept all week. The kids are still sick and now I am too. This weekend I don't plan on doing much more than sleeping. While at the doctor's office on Tuesday getting Austin medicine we looked through the Valentine section of the Family Fun magazine. They had these cute little, EASY, candy airplanes. We decided that's what were were going to do for the kids in their classes. All we needed was Smarties, Gum, Pep O Mint Life Savers, some patterned paper, and rubberbands. We wrapped all of the sticks of gum with patterned paper and added some hearts to the top. We simply ran the rubberband through the two Lifesavers leaving space to stick the Smarties through also. Then put the stick of gum through the top. It's hard to explain, but very easy to do. So what are your kids doing for Valetine's Day?

Nuts For You Acorn Treat Holder

Well, this post is coming to you 3 days later than I had planned! Our household has been battling a lot of little illnesses and we are losing! Each day has been one thing or another and today Austin has a rash on his hands and arms. What's that about? So onto my project. This wasn't my original idea, but I've had to tweak it using supplies that I had versus what the original creator had used. How cute is this little acorn treat holder? For the Sahara Sand base of the acorn I cut 2 ovals with the Coluzzle. Then with Close To Cocoa cardstock I cut out 1 Top Note Die with the Cuttlebug. I cut it in half, making 2. Then I also cut a strip of C. To. C with the Scallop Border punch. I stamped my squirrel from Forest Friends from PTI.

For the base of the treat holder, I took a 3x7" strip of Sahara Sand cardstock, scored it at 1/4" on both long sides, then I added sticky strip to the scored sections. I snipped them with papersnips, then removed the red liner of the sticky strip. This way the cardstock with bend into a oval shape and it can be attached to the front and back acorn piece. I finished it off with a tag that says Nuts About You! These cute little guys will go to the kids teachers for Valentine's Day.

Love You Much

Finally.....a chance to stamp. The boys all returned to school today after being off for 15 days. I wanted to jump right into Valentine's Day projects. Using the products that came in my Love You Much Bundle (ask me how you can get 20% off of this bundle!) I created this card. The bundle comes with a stamp set, designer series paper, and a punch! The only extra things I used on this card that were not included in the bundle was the scallop border punch, the button, and the hemp twine that is tied on my button. So now that I'm in the V-Day mood, I'm off to create more goodies to share with you this week.

Happy 2009!

I thought I'd make my first post of 2009 a quick overview of myself and my family incase there are any new readers. Then I am so ready to move on from Christmas and straight into Valentine's Day projects! My name is Erica. I am a wife to Dustin. We have been married for 7 1/2 years. We have three sons. Austin is 9, Cameron is 6, and Carter 3. We have 1 cat, Angel. You won't or see much about her because she does nothing but sleep and truthfully she and I don't really get along. Then there is our newest addition, Hemi. She is our 5 month old Black Lab/ Golden Retriever mix. You will, on the other hand, hear and see alot about her. She's momma's girl, but she has tons of puppy energy and gets into trouble...a lot! I do daycare in my home which gives me the opportunity to be at home with my kids while making a little extra money to help with the bills. My fun job is being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I've done this for about 3 years and love it. And of course my passion is stamping and scrapbooking. I try to do something creative each day, for my sanity. So check back very soon for my next post. Happy New Year!
