Golf Ball Egg Box

I picked up several of these little egg boxes from PTI right after Easter. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them, but I got 7 of them (one for each of my boys and my 4 nephews). I knew that I wanted to alter one for each of the boys with things they like. My oldest son, Austin, will be 9 at the end of May. He loves to golf and asked for new golf balls for his birthday. The golf balls fit perfectly into the "egg holder" insert on the inside. I covered the insert first with Wild Wasabi, tracing the holes, and then punched them out with the 1 3/8" circle punch. I covered the sides of the box with some golf paper I had. I'm not sure who it's by. Maybe Moxey. I'll see if I can find out later. I decorated the top with the golf ball from one of the older TAC sets. He will probably take the balls right out and put them in his golf bag, but then he can use the box to stash all of his little trinkets. Hope everyone is having a happy hump day so far!

Baby Gift Set

I attend a MOPS group (Mothers Of Preschoolers) once a month, and the number of babies being born in our group is amazing. I wish I could afford to buy each mommy and baby something lavish- but that isn't going to happen. There are a few moms that I am closer to though that I put together these gift sets for. They are inexpensive and can be put together in minutes, but it lets the moms know that I am thinking about them. I bought several boxes of the travel baby wash, lotion, powder, etc. I have a stack of these tins from Specialty Bottle. Only the lotion and baby bath fit in these tins, so I'll put the other things in a different type of tin. I also added a baby washcloth. I simply put a belly band on the tin and used some circle punches to make a flower that matches those on the patterned paper.

Spring

This past week was just gorgeous. This week...not so much! We spent alot of time outside last week and I took a few pics of Carter enjoying the spring weather. You can click on the picture to enlarge for details and to read the journaling. I used Treehouse stamps new release, Oh So Hoppy and some of rub ons from SU!

It's A Jungle Out There

I made this card for my cheeky little monkey nephew, Myles. He thinks he's part monkey and some days I believe it! I got more new High Hopes stamps. This card is using Walk About Wally, Samson, and Mike on the vine. These were so fun to color and I did a little masking so that the animals look like they are behind Wally. I put fun flock on the monkey's face, hands, and feet. I added some jungle leaf brads in the corner. The d.p. is from SU! Fall Flowers. I thought the leave print looked jungle-like. I also did faux stitching around the card. OH- I put Banana card scents on Wally's boots so the card smells yummy!

It's been raining off and on this morning, so I think today will be a good stamping day.

Milton At The Beach

I made this card using my new Milton from High Hopes, for my friend Brooke. She loves moose. I used the East Coast Prep d.p. from SU! Milton has fun flock on his antlers so they are fuzzy. He has actual sand in his bucket, and I put Crystal Effects on his glasses on on his water wings. One more day of nice weather before it rains for a few days so I heading out with the kiddos to enjoy it!

More Scrap Happy DT Work

Here are a few more of the projects I made using the new Paper Salon patterned paper for my local scrapbook store, Scrap Happy. I made another Father's Day card, a baby boy card, and a layout.
Today is another nice day out, so I'm hoping to get a walk in. My friend, Courtney is also stopping by with her daughter for a visit. Last night we went for a 6 mile bike ride. My legs hurt so bad when I went to bed. The bugs were HORRIBLE. Dustin got 2 in his eye and we couldn't even talk to eachother for fear of eating them, so we gave up and came home. The boys slept wonderful though!

DAD

Over the next few days you will see several projects that I have made for my design team work over a Treehouse stamps, and also for my local scrapbook store- Scrap Happy. Everything on today's card is available at Scrap Happy. I was asked to create some projects that are a bit more masculine with Father's Day coming up. The patterned paper is by Paper Salon. I painted the chipboard letters with Making Memories chocolate scrapbook paint and added a few eyelets with the Crop-A-Dile. I love how simple this card is. It's the perfect Father's Day Card.

Cameron's Wedding Photo's

Today we are feeling the effects of the long day we had yesterday. Everything was perfect. The rain held off until halfway through the reception. The kids walked down the isle just as they practiced and they even danced together at the reception. I am such a sap when it comes to watching my kids do things like this. I cried a lot yesterday! He looked so grown up and did such a great job even though he had such a long day. Here are a few pictures from his big day.

Leslie's Wedding Card

Today is a big day in our house. Our little Cam-man (he's 5) is in his cousin's wedding. He is really excited, mostly because he gets toys out of the deal. He looks soooo cute in his tux, or as he calls it- his costume. When she first asked him to be the ring bearer in her wedding he said yes if he can wear his fire fighter costume. He did WONDERFUL last night at rehersal. He couldn't have done any better. He has this smile that always turns into a giggle that is infectious. I hate to say it, but he might steal the spotlight from the bride and groom. It's not his fault that he's adorable! I'll definately post pictures tomorrow of the big event. Here is the card for the couple. I just threw it together a few minutes ago because with all that's involved with being in a wedding I forgot about getting a card made. Because of time restraints I'm going to skip the details on the card. We are heading out the door soon for pictures. Let's hope the 50% chance of rain we have will hold off until later! Have a great day!

Have a Frog-A-Rific Day- Sneek Peek #1

First of all-who felt the earthquake last night? It happened states away from us, but we could feel it here in Ohio. Isn't that crazy? On to the card. I was asked to join the Treehouse stamps team as a guest designer for this month, so here is my first card using their So Hoppy set, due to release April 25th. The sketch I used for this card was Ashley's Brainwave Wednesday sketch. The d.p. on this card is by Creative Imaginations. The frog is covered with Crystal Effects to give him a slimy look.

How Sweet

It's been along time since I had used my bellas, so I thought I'd dust one one to use for Julee's Mojo Monday sketch. I also got a package of cherry bling and I wanted to use one of those on this card. I paper pieced Bella's apron with a piece of the d.p. by Bo Bunny. The How Sweet sentiment is from MFT. That's about it for this card. I hope to be back later with more to share with you. I made a trip to Michaels' the other night and have lots of projects to work on!

Carter's Canvas and a Sketch

Yes- his cheeks are always that rosey in the evening, just like his Auntie!

Last night after bath the boys were coloring with markers, and I knew it probably wasn't the smartest thing to let them do but they were getting along so well. I couldn't interupt the bonding! I'm not sure if Carter ran out of room on his paper or what, but his artwork traveled up his arms. He now resembles his uncle that loves tattoos. I tried washing it off this morning, but it's not coming offeasily. I've already removed layers of skin, so I'm hoping that the rest will come off during tonight's bath.

On to the card. Artfully Ila is giving away blog candy, and we had to make a card using her sketch to be in the running for her giveaway. I loved this sketch. It was a lot of fun to work with. I oicked up a sheet of this construction worker type paper at my LSS (I can't remember who it's made by, as I cut it up before looking). I used my Fixafella from Stamping Bella for the main image. I colored him with WWC and an aqua painter. I'm not sure where the sentiment came from. It was one that I had gotten from a RAK a long time ago. I added 3 screw brads to the side and also a saw blad brad to the top left corner of the image. I really like the way this card turned out. Hopefully Ila will too!

You Make Me Smile!

Click on picture to enlarge for detail

Today's SCS challenge was to create a double pocket card. You can find the tutorial here. They are so easy to make. Mine took less that 10 minutes and that included coloring and typing the poem on the inserts. The poem reads: Dead bug trasures, old bird feathers; mud pies bring such joy! Frogs that jump and trucks that bump...It's great to be a boy. After coloring my little guy I decided that he looked too clean, so I smudged ink on him to make him look dirty. I also put crystal effects on the frog to make him look wet and slimy! Hope you're having a great Monday! *Erin- we need more images. Carter was having a fit when he saw that I was using "his" frogs that Aunt Erin gave him!

Game On!

This weekend is the end of basketball season for Cameron. He loved it. He wants a basketball birthday party. We'll see about that. I made this quick card for his coach as a thank you.The other parents don't seem like they'll so anything for him, so I think I'll have all of the kids sign it. TGIF!!

Grandma's Birthday Card

Next month is my grandma's birthday. I always work a month ahead, so I began her birthday gift and card today. In the fall my grandpa built her a "potting shed". They love being outside, working in the garden and flower beds. That was my inspiration for her card. I paper pieced the shovel, pot, and rake. It went together very easily. Her gift is a work in progress. I'm putting together a garden gift basket for her. It has gloves, tools, seed packets, pots, etc. inside it but there are a few things I need to add to it before it's finished.

Lots To Share

Austin and Cameron with Cat in the Hat at the Story book FestivalA layout for Austin from camping last summer. I paper pieced all of the embellishments on the layout.
I got this cute little image from my s-i-l. It's from High Hopes. This card is for Julee's Mojo Monday sketch.

I usually have a hard time getting going on Monday mornings, but today wasn't too bad. Maybe it was because we had a descent weekend. Saturday Austin had a soccer game and Cameron had basketball game. Both boys scored and they were so proud of themselves, rightfully so! Mommy was proud too! After the games we went to the story book festival. Each year the high school hosts this festival. They have a story book theme and the kids get free books and can get their picture taken with the main character. This year was Cat in the Hat. Carter wasn't impressed with the giant talking cat, but Austin and Carter wanted their picture taken with him. Sunday we had our family picture taken . We were in and out in less than ten minutes. The boys could not have been better! We were all in bed by 8:00 last night. That might explain why this morning has gone so smoothly. And that's why I have 3 things to share with you!

Feeding The Squirrels

It finally feels like spring here in Ohio. We've been running aroung for several hours now, from one sporting event to another. Carter isn't feeling so well and desperately needs a nap. We came home for just a little while, hoping that he gets a short nap before heading off to the next thing. This layout is from this winter when we went to feed the squirrles. It was 50 degrees and mid January. The layout is self explainitory, except for the "peanut" embellishments that I made. I bought baking clayand molded it into peanut shapes. Then I pressed real peanuts into the soft clay to get the effect of the real thing. Then I baked them until they were hard and painted them when they were cool. I hope everybody enjoys this beautiful day.

Dino Frame

My nephew's new dinosaur room has a lot of wall space, so Auntie said she'd fix him right up. I got this cheap-o collage frame at Walmart. I simply decorated each of the openings and put in his school picture. Simple as that!

Dream Box

This is the project that I promised yesterday. Cameron didn't get a chance to help me with his part, but maybe later. He is certain that if I forget to tell him sweet dreams that he will have a nightmare. He often has night terrors and nightmares( which are two totally different things), so I made him a dream box. Inside I am going to have him write down things that he would like to dream of. Each night before bed he can pull one out and at least be thinking about that before he falls asleep. I'm hoping this will help cut back on the amount of nightmares. I wanted him to have a few written down already to share with you because his imagination is one of a kind. I can only imagine some of the things he will come up with. The box I used is from Maya Road that had chipboard letters in it. I used some of the dp from the Crew Kids -Boy SSK, added alittle ribbon to the handle, and glued chipboard letter to the front of the box. Nothing fancy.

I Just Heard!

While I wait to post the project I promised for Cameron, I decided to work on today's SCS color challenge. I made this card for a friend, who I heard through the grapevine is expecting. We were to use Mellow Moss, Cameo Coral, Apricot Appeal, and Creamy Carmel. These are not colors I would've have put together on my own, but I like them together. Stamps sets I used are True Friend and Absolutely Fabulous, both by SU!

Cameron Lost His First Tooth!

Yesterday was back to school for the kids...finally! After being home for over a week, it was time to send them back. The highlight of Cameron's spring break was loosing his fist tooth Friday morning. He was so excited. He is determined that he saw the Tooth Fairy leaving his room, but he has quite the imagination. I'll be back later with a project I made for him, but he has to help me finish it before I post it.
